Scuttledale
The Scuttledale is a location found several miles north of Fort Sinister territory in the Fallow Marches. It is a sheltered meadow in the Camwood. This mile across depression appears cursed, as it attracts spiders. Lots of them. Big ones, such as attercops and ungoliants. The entire vale has been burned to the ground numerous times since Fort Sinister was founded, and the spiders keep coming back. The Fort's Governor even commissioned Lady Lavinia of Blackstone Freeholding to cast Cometfall on the site fifteen years ago, in hopes of destroying the hypothetical buried artifact that calls the spiders, to no avail. The crater from that attempt is quite visible from the edge of the vale.
Early every winter, when the cold drives the spiders to dormancy, but before the first snowfall, the Governor of Fort Sinister organizes an expedition to burn as much of the vale as possible, to keep things under control.
