Castella River
Dominating the southern Fallow Marches, the Castella river connects the central lake region to the mighty Aster River, at the imperial city of Shining Falls. The Castella is barge-navigable for the first sixty leagues or so, but long standing imperial policy prohibits improvements that would facilitate trade outside the national border in this direction. To this end, the Ministry of Trade employed a number of Earth mages to cause an extensive, twelve foot fault at the edge of the Camwood.
The Old Trade Road connects Shining Falls to Fort Sinister, after which the New Road follows it on beyond its headwaters, eventually reaching Dawnfalls Landing. Due to new settlements along the Gonglin River, the New Road has begun to fall into disuse.
