Overview
The western shores of the Lake of Dreams are host to scores of small, largely independent fishing villages, eking out their existences under the shadow of the Camwood. These folk, while originally hailing from the Yamato Shogunate, the nations of the Anyube River basin, and the Kring Plains, have put together a culture that is uniquely their own. Outsiders consider them a little strange, which is to be expected, given the nature of the Lake. Most villages are single species, and nearly every temperate-comfortable race can be found here.
Economy
Within a village, and generally between neighboring ones, the economy is entirely barter-based. Peddlers and the occasional merchant train will pass through, bringing news and worked metal products in exchange for artifacts fished out of the lake, and of course, the fish themselves.
The Lake is home to an inordinate volume of freshwater aquatic life, and oddly enough, no monsters. An account from a House Metamorphos researcher not too long ago argued in favor of divine intervention explaining the variety of piceans, as some of the fish he discovered weren't native to the Northern continent.

NPCs of Note
- Adric: Human smuggler and boat captain.
- Cadda: True Goblin warcaller of the Death Goat tribe.
- Cov: Human smuggler and boat captain. More cautious than Adric or Morlac.
- Morlac: Uruk smuggler & boat captain. More charming than Han Solo, but with fewer ethical constraints.
- Tim the Mender: Halveling Mender-mage, smuggler, Cov's bosun. He could have a decent career marketing his magic publicly, but that's not as interesting.
- Toshiro: human lake mage, Morlac's bosun. Yamaoto decent, but “literally born in the Lake”.
- Venya: Gnoll smuggler, Adric's bosun. Picks up heavy objects, throws annoying gits overboard.
