Zelda was born from the union of a Dark Elf adventurer and a Hazad human herbalist; she has many pleasant memories of her mother, and refused to discus her sire.  She had a reasonably uneventful career as an assistant shopkeeper in one of the southern Caliphate cities, where she gained the respect and friendship of the Blackstone Company.  [[Goska Whitefoot]] made the trip himself to invite her to join the founding expedition, an opportunity she literally jumped at.
-Zelda's training is in medicinal alchemy and herbalism: the only talent she inherited from her father's lineage is a well refined empathic sense.  her shop stocks the usual array of low-level adventuring elixirs, but her focus is in medicines that keep the community healthy.  Late fall through early spring, she sells a __lot__ of her apple-ginger-alfwort oatmeal cookies: one a day boosts your disease resistance drastically.  (The apple helps cover the bitterness of the alfwort)
