**Vampire**: The undead incarnation of Pride.  The vampire refuses to accept that death could have happened to them, and continues on by stealing life from the living.  When a vampire sucks your blood, it isn't really what he is taking: he's feeding upon your remaining //lifetime//.  Your average vampire bears a frustrating similarity to a House Nogrog Elf.
-**Vampire, Mandarinate**: Also known as the //Hopping Vampire//.  Like the common northern vampires, the Mandarinate variety feeds upon your lifespan, but does so while draining your //ch'i//.  This lack of fluid intake does tend to lead to a drying of the body and reduced joint mobility.  Unfortunately, a freshly fed vampire can simply __levitate_ about to pursue further victims.

**Violas**: A rather pretty plant-monster, resembling a goat-sized tulip with large, jagged leaves.  Normally docile, a Violas will launch sprays of poisonous needles at any person or creature using magic, then slowly (~1" per minute) slither with its roots through the topsoil to feed upon its victim.  The bulbs, if still living, sell well in civilized markets to "security experts".
